History:
The Indian community in South Africa has a long history with the region and so do the Zulu’s. About 40km north of Durban is Shaka’s Rock – a place believed to have been a lookout point for the Zulu King Shaka. Some people believe this place was used by the king to execute miscreants by flinging them into the sea.
Boer settlers was believed to have moved through the Dolphin Coast area and British forces crossed the Tugela River en route to Isandlwana during the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War. |
